The significance of this Boogie Boys single is not the A-side single “Body”, but the B-side KMD Step Off. Around 1987 Kool Moe Dee annually (every year for about 5 years) graded the rappers of his generation in ten different categories – vocabulary, articulation, creativity, originality, versatility, voice, records, stage presence, sticking to themes, and innovating rhythms and The Boogie Boys got a low score. They got pissed and put out this little-known B-side as a ‘diss’ reply to Kool Moe Dee and his ‘report card’.
