Harlem World Crew was a name created by Jack Taylor, who owned Tayster Records and the famed Harlem World club of the late 70s and early 80s. He spotlighted regulars at the club on the records. This wasn’t a rap group, but a brand that promoted Harlem World’s burgeoning hip-hop scene. Rappers who appeared on the handful of Harlem World Crew 12-inches include resident DJ Lovebug Starski, Lady Smiley, Charlie Rock, Son Of Sam and Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde.
